Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part One (2020) by Id Software

While an excellent follow up on the story level, The Ancient Ones DLC falls short in creating memorable gameplay moments, often offering challenges that disrupt your momentum more than they add to it. I also had more than a few instances of glitches that required me to reload the check point. This from a game that is otherwise the benchmark for PC gaming, was a bit disappointing.

Nevertheless, the content is well worth the price and pushed the story forward in a very meaningful way. It also offers new enemy types that while not intimidating, are respectfully challenging. If you haven’t played in a while you might need to take some time getting used to the controls but other than that, RIP n TEAR!
